Product Overview

Fully Automatic Turret Slitting Line converts wide parent rolls into multiple finished rolls through controlled unwinding, web guiding, longitudinal slitting and automatic turret rewinding. The winding section manages core positioning, roll changeover, tension control and finished-roll discharge within a continuous operating cycle.
The line configuration is selected from material thickness, working width, parent-roll diameter, finished-roll diameter, core size, slit width and required production speed.

Automatic Turret Rewinding

Automatic Roll Change

The turret moves the prepared winding position into production when the finished roll reaches the programmed condition. Web transfer and roll change are coordinated with winding speed and tension.

Core Positioning

Rewind cores are positioned according to the programmed slit layout. Core spacing follows the required finished-roll widths and shaft configuration.

Finished Roll Discharge

Completed rolls are released from the winding section after the changeover cycle. Discharge equipment can be matched to roll diameter and finished-roll weight.

Slitting System

Razor Slitting
Razor knives are suitable for selected thin films and flexible web materials where the cutting process requires a narrow contact area.

Circular Knife Slitting
Circular knives provide a controlled cutting method for thicker films, laminated webs, paper and selected foil structures.

Knife Positioning
Knife positions are set according to the required finished-roll widths. The available slit range depends on web width, material thickness, knife arrangement and core layout.

Web Tension Control

Unwind Tension

Unwind tension is regulated as parent-roll diameter decreases. The control range is selected according to material thickness, tensile behavior and roll weight.

Rewind Tension

Rewind tension is adjusted with changing roll diameter and winding conditions. Taper tension settings can be used where the material requires controlled winding hardness.

Web Guiding

The web guide corrects lateral movement before the slitting section. Edge or printed-line tracking can be selected according to the material and registration requirement.

Material Compatibility

Plastic Films
Typical materials include BOPP, PET, CPP, PE and other flexible films within the specified thickness and mechanical range.

Laminated Materials
Laminated structures require suitable knife geometry, tension settings and winding pressure to maintain slit quality and roll formation.

Paper and Foil
Paper and aluminum foil can be processed when the cutting system, tension range and winding configuration match the material structure.

Production Applications

Flexible Packaging

The line converts parent rolls into narrower production rolls for printing, laminating, bag making and subsequent converting processes.

Film Converting

It provides controlled width reduction for plastic films before printing, coating, laminating or forming operations.

Industrial Web Materials

Selected coated films, technical papers and other continuous web materials can be processed according to their thickness, tensile properties and winding requirements.

Why Choose a Turret Slitter Rewinder

01/

Continuous Winding
The second winding position is prepared before the completed roll is discharged, allowing the next winding cycle to follow the programmed changeover sequence.

02/

Controlled Roll Formation
Unwind tension, rewind tension and taper settings are coordinated with roll diameter to maintain the required winding condition.

03/

Automated Core Handling
Core positioning and turret movement are integrated into the winding sequence, reducing manual setup at the rewinding section.

04/

Multiple Output Widths
Knife positions and core locations can be configured for different finished-roll widths within the available working range.

Configuration Selection

Material Data
Material type, thickness, tensile behavior, surface characteristics and laminate structure determine the cutting and tension-control requirements.

Roll Dimensions
Parent-roll width, unwind diameter, finished-roll diameter, core diameter and roll weight define the mechanical configuration.

Production Target
Required slit widths, number of lanes, production speed and changeover frequency determine the appropriate turret and automation arrangement.

Quality and Process Control
Manufacturing inspection covers frame assembly, shaft alignment, knife positioning, web-guiding movement and control functions. Running tests verify unwinding, tension response, slitting, turret rotation, roll changeover and finished-roll discharge before shipment.

FAQ

Q: What materials can be processed?

A: The line can be configured for plastic films, laminated webs, paper, aluminum foil and selected technical web materials according to material thickness and winding requirements.

Q: What determines the working width?

A: Working width is determined by the parent-roll width, required finished-roll widths, edge trim and the planned slit layout.

Q: How does automatic roll changeover work?

A: The turret brings the prepared winding position into production, transfers the web to the new cores and moves the completed rolls to the discharge position through a programmed sequence.

Q: What determines the operating speed?

A: Material thickness, web characteristics, slit width, roll diameter, tension requirements and finished-roll quality determine the suitable operating speed.

Q: Can the slitting method be changed for different materials?

A: Razor and circular knife configurations can be selected according to material thickness, web structure and required cutting conditions.

Q: What information is required for configuration?

A: Material type and thickness, parent-roll width and diameter, finished-roll width and diameter, core size, number of lanes, target speed and required automation level are the main technical inputs.
