Product Overview
High-Speed Wide-Web Slitting Equipment converts wide parent rolls into multiple finished rolls through continuous unwinding, web guiding, slitting and rewinding. It is used for films, paper, foil and other flexible web materials where finished width, roll diameter, winding condition and production speed must match the downstream process.
Material Compatibility
PET, BOPP, PE, CPP and similar films can be processed according to thickness, elasticity, surface condition and winding behavior.
Kraft paper, aluminum foil, metallized films and selected coated materials can be processed with tension and cutting settings matched to the substrate.
Material thickness, parent-roll weight, coating, stiffness and surface condition should be confirmed before the final equipment specification is set.
Slitting Configuration
Slit Width
Knife positions are arranged according to finished-roll width and lane quantity. The minimum practical slit width depends on material thickness and knife arrangement.
Knife Selection
Razor or circular-knife systems can be selected according to substrate structure, thickness and required slit edge.
Edge Trim
Trim collection is arranged around the slit layout and web width to maintain a clear material path during continuous operation.
Tension and Web Control
Unwind Tension
The unwind section maintains controlled web tension as the parent-roll diameter reduces during production.
Web Guiding
Automatic web guiding corrects lateral web movement before the material enters the slitting section.
Rewind Tension
Rewind tension is matched to material thickness, slit width, roll diameter and required finished-roll hardness.
Rewinding Requirements
Finished Roll Diameter
The rewind section is selected according to the required finished-roll diameter and production length.
Core Size
Typical core diameters include 76 mm and 152 mm. Other core dimensions can be specified according to the finished-roll format.
Roll Formation
Rewind pressure and tension settings determine roll build, edge alignment and finished-roll hardness for downstream handling.
Production Applications
Flexible Packaging
Wide film rolls can be converted into narrower reels for printing, laminating, bag making and packaging operations.
Paper Converting
The equipment processes wide paper rolls into specified widths for subsequent converting, printing or packaging processes.
Industrial Web Processing
Selected foil, metallized and coated web materials can be slit into production widths for further processing.
Key Equipment Benefits
High-Speed Processing
The continuous web path supports production where wide parent rolls must be converted into multiple finished rolls within a controlled process.
Controlled Slitting
Adjustable knife positioning establishes the required finished widths across the selected number of lanes.
Consistent Rewinding
Tension and rewind pressure are coordinated to produce finished rolls with controlled winding condition.
Production Flexibility
Working width, knife layout, core arrangement and rewind dimensions can follow different material and finished-roll requirements.
